I’m thrilled to share that I’ve mastered 14 commands so far! I’ve been putting in the effort every day to learn my Hebrew commands in preparation for my move to Israel next year. I’ve got the basics down, including come, sit, stay, lay down, and no. The leave it command was a bit challenging, but my puppy raiser emphasizes its importance for focusing when I’m paired with my partner. My favorite phrase is “kelev tov” – good dog! That one really makes my tail wag.
Currently, I’m tackling some directional commands, which can be tricky, but I’m enjoying the challenge. I know how to turn left, turn right, go straight, and come to the left side. Next, I’ll be learning p’nimah – sideways to the right; hatziah – sideways to the left; and a’cho’ra – back. Sometimes, it feels like I’m dancing!
